Description
No. 30 Market Square is a shop and dwelling built in 1751, with some parts likely dating back earlier. The building features chequer brick with flared headers and a concrete plain-tile roof, complete with brick end stacks. It has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high, plus attics. The symmetrical front has two windows, with 4-pane sash windows on the first floor, which are topped with rubbed and gauged flat arches. A central datestone is inscribed with "H/RL/1751". The moulded eaves cove is partly boxed over but extends from the plaster cove of the adjacent No. 29 to the right. The shop front was altered in the 20th century. The steep-pitched roof includes two flat-headed roof dormers. The interior has not been inspected.
