Description
No. 33 Market Square is a shop and dwelling that dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with later alterations from the late 18th century to early 19th century. The building is constructed of rendered brick and limestone rubble, featuring wooden lintels, and has roofs made of Welsh slate and old plain tiles. It consists of a main range with three storeys and a long rear wing with two storeys. The front facade is rendered and has two windows, with a stucco sill band on the first floor. The first-floor windows are 12-pane sashes, while the second floor features 6-pane sashes. There is a deeply projecting 19th-century fascia supported by heavy carved brackets, topped with cast-iron cresting. The lower rear wing is older, has a steep-pitched tiled roof, and displays irregular fenestration, including a tripartite sash window. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included for its group value.
