Description
This building, known as Prudential Assurance Thornton Baker, is a mid-19th century office located in Banbury Market Place. It is constructed of brick and features a hipped slate roof with brick ridge and end stacks. The building stands three storeys tall with scattered fenestration and has two doorways. The angled doorway on the left has a panelled door and an Ionic doorcase, while the doorway on the right is framed by a moulded stone surround. The ground floor includes three windows, one of which is blocked, and two 2-light windows with moulded surrounds. The first and second floors mainly have 2-light windows, along with two blocked windows and two windows that feature semi-circular heads. The building is topped with a moulded eaves cornice and a parapet. The interior has not been inspected. It occupies a prominent site between the Market Place and Bridge Street.
