Description
The Town Hall, built around 1854 by E. Bruton, is designed in the Gothic style and constructed from limestone ashlar with a tiled roof. It stands two storeys high and features a three-window range. The central entrance tower includes a clock and a short spire, divided into three stages. The doorway has a moulded four-centred arched head. On the first floor, there is a window with an ogee-headed surround and a balcony. The building is topped with a crenellated parapet and has two side doors along with three two-light traceried windows. The first floor also boasts two tall stone mullioned and transomed windows with traceried heads and hood moulds, complemented by a parapet and buttresses. Inside, there is a cast-iron staircase and a panelled first-floor hall.
