Description
Halfords is a mid-19th century building located on the north side of Banbury High Street. Originally two separate buildings, it is now listed as No.93 High Street, which encompasses both former Nos.93 and 94. The left part of the building is constructed of brick and features a hipped slate roof. It is three stories tall with a two-window range. The ground floor has a 20th-century shop front, while the first floor includes two 2-light sash windows with horns and moulded stone sills, topped with stone lintels. The second floor has two sash windows, each with four large panes, complemented by stone sills and a cornice supported by consoles. The building is finished with a moulded stone eaves cornice and a brick parapet with stone coping.
The right part of the building is finished in stucco and has rusticated quoins. It also stands three stories tall with a two-window range and features a continuous 20th-century shop front. The first floor has truncated windows with cornices on consoles, while the second floor contains two sash windows with four panes in total, framed by stone cases. This section also has a moulded stone eaves cornice and a parapet. The interiors of both parts have been remodelled in the 20th century.
