Description

BANBURY MARKET PLACE SP4540NE (South side) 7/114 No.3 (Buckell and Ballard) (Formerly listed as Nos.3 to 08/07/75 10 (consecutive)) GV II House and shop. Formerly one build with No.2 (not inscluded) which has been rebuilt. C17 with later alterations. Stucco. Tile roof. Brick end stack to right. 2 storeys plus attic. Single-window range. C20 shop front to ground floor. 4-light stone mullioned window with hood mould and label stops to first floor. Large gabled dormer has a 2-light stone mullioned window with hood mould and label stop. Stone coping to right. Cavetto moulded mullions noted as a rare example in Banbury. Wooden winder staircase. May have been used by the Blue Coat School. Wool Hall c.1610 - c.1642.
