SP4735 ADDERBURY HIGH STREET (East side) Adderbury East 7/40 Sunday School

GV II Sunday school. 1831 extended late C19 and C20. Marlstone ashlar and brick; Welsh-slate roofs. L-shaped plan with added wing to rear plus infill section. Gothic style. Single storey. Front range has three 3-light stone-mullioned windows with labels, which have richly-moulded lights with cusped semi-circular heads and recessed spandrels; 4-centre arched door, between bays 2 and 3 has a label with lozenge spandrels and retains a studded door with scrolled hinges. Gable parapets have projecting moulded kneelers, and the steep-pitched roof has crested ridge tiles. Both gable walls have large sash windows. Rear wing, returning from right, is also in stone, but a further range to rear of it is in brick and the C20 infill has a flat roof. Head of doorway is inscribed 'ADDERBURY SUNDAY SCHOOL/MDCCCXXXI".
