Description
Grovehurst Oast is a double oasthouse built in the mid-19th century. It features a combination of red and blue chequered brick and weatherboarding, topped with plain tiled roofs. The structure consists of two two-storey stowages, each with red brick ground floors. The gable end of the eastern stowage is open, while the western stowage has a cart entry. Both stowages have loft doors on the first floor, with a hoist bracket located to the right. The left return elevation includes three wooden casements on the first floor and two on the ground floor, along with a basement opening at the rear left. The base of the oasthouse has paired roundels in English Bond on the plinth, connected by a tiled linking gantry and featuring louvred bases to the cowls.
