Description
Fairbourne Oast is an oasthouse that has been converted into a house. It was built in the 1870s and underwent conversion in the late 20th century. The kilns are constructed from a chequered pattern of red and grey brick and feature plain tile roofs. There are two linked circular kilns that have a diagonally dentilled brick eaves cornice and conical roofs topped with weatherboarded cowls.
To the south, there is a stowage area made of red brick in Flemish bond with occasional grey headers and a slate roof. This structure is two storeys tall, with the roof hipped to the right. The building has a regular arrangement of three 2-light casement windows. There is a first-floor loading door located between the first and second windows from the right. The ground floor features three double doors and one single door with slatted ventilation, all of which have segmental heads. The interior has not been inspected. The building is listed for its group value.
