Description
Ramchild is a house located on Fairbourne Lane in Harrietsham, dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century, with late 19th-century alterations. The building features a timber frame, with the ground floor constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and the first floor tile-hung. It has a plain tile roof and stands two storeys high on a prominent stone plinth, which includes a continuous jetty. The roof is hipped, and there are red brick stacks at both the left and right ends. The windows are of irregular fenestration, consisting of three late 19th-century sashes and one small casement. The jetty at the right end has been underbuilt in the late 19th century with red brick, topped by a plain-tiled bracketed pentice. There is a canted bay at the right end and a ribbed door on the left end, accessible by three steps. Additionally, there is a late 19th-century lean-to on the left side with a plain tile roof. The interior has not been inspected.
