Description

Fairbourne Court is a house dating from the early 18th century, with alterations and additions made in the early 19th century and repairs in the late 20th century. The front elevation is of red brick with grey headers in a Flemish bond pattern. The rear half of the house is likely 19th century, constructed of galleted stone on the ground floor with chequered red and grey brick above. The roof is tiled, with each range having a hipped form, and central valley, and incorporating projecting brick stacks towards the front and two gabled dormers. The house is double-depth, with two storeys and attics, and a cellar beneath the left-front room. A brick plinth and plat band are present on the front half of the house, and projecting eaves have flat soffits. The interior features a 19th-century decorative iron staircase and fireplaces. A side purlin roof is also present. A half-glazed and panelled door, with a brick surround dated 1724, is centrally positioned. The fenestration is regular, with five recessed glazing-bar sashes under the eaves; ground floor windows have rubbed brick voussoirs.
