Description

The buildings at 4 and 5 Tippens Close are a house, originally two cottages, dating to the 16th century. The structure is timber-framed, with some exposed wall posts. The ground floor is clad in red brick, the first floor is weatherboarded, and the gable is tile-hung. The roof is tiled with a half-hipped gable to the front. The house is two storeys and has an attic. It has one window in the gable and on the first floor, and two windows on the ground floor, all with 19th-century casement windows. A panel door is positioned off-centre, alongside a similar door to the right, each with a flat hood above. A 19th-century extension to the rear, formerly a separate cottage, has a doorway on the left-hand side between the front elevations.
