Barn, Now House with Outhouses About 20 Metres North West of Baiden Farm

This building is a barn that has been converted into a house with outhouses, located about 20 metres northwest of Bainden Farm. It dates from the late 16th century and was extended and altered in the late 18th century, with further conversion taking place in the late 20th century. The structure is timber framed and weather boarded, with extensions made of red and blue chequered brick. The roofs are plain tiled.

The main range sits on a sandstone base, which has been repaired with red brick. The roof is hipped to the right and gabled to the left, stepping down to the extension on the left. There are three cart doors in the left-hand extension and a boarded door at the centre of the main block, which features a 20th-century hipped porch. Each floor has four single lights. There are catslide outshots to the right and rear, each with boarded half doors and recessed casements in the roof slope.

Inside, the barn has a five-bay structure with a two-bay extension. The frame remains intact and unaltered, featuring a queen strut and windbrace roof. The original central entrance bays have inward sloping shores to the main posts, which are likely 18th-century alterations, as are the joists that converted the end bays to two storeys.
