Description
Cleveland Cottage is a pair of cottages, now under single ownership, dating from the mid-18th century. The ground floor is constructed of red brick, while the first floor features mathematical tiles. The building has a tiled roof with a modillion eaves cornice and is two storeys high with two bays and an end chimneystack. There are two triple 19th-century casement windows, and the central entrance has a paired doorcase topped with flat wooden weatherhoods supported by brackets, leading to four-panelled doors. At the rear, there is a two-storey extension with a ground floor of red brick and a first floor that is weatherboarded, featuring a hipped tiled roof that was originally a catslide. Inside, the cottage includes a large inglenook fireplace, a winder staircase, and plain plank doors, some of which have a circular opening near the top.
