Description

The building is a coach house and schoolroom located about 20 metres southeast of Maypole. It dates from the 18th century and was rebuilt and altered in the early 20th century. The structure is timber framed, with a red brick base that is partly exposed and has plaster infill, and it is clad with weather-boarding. The roof is plain tiled and features a half-hipped main range that is one storey high with a loft, along with a hipped cross-wing. There is a gabled loft opening to the left over carriage doors, which includes a rectangular fanlight, and a boarded door to the right. The carriage doors are located on the right return of the projecting wing. A lunette window is present on the right return, and there are casement windows at the rear. Inside, the main range on the right has been fitted out as garaging, while it was previously used as a schoolroom or playroom. There are also workshops and storage sheds attached to the rear.
