Description
The garden walls to the north and northeast of Maypole date from the early 19th century and are constructed of red brick. These walls create a series of walled gardens, standing approximately 7 to 8 feet high, featuring pilaster buttresses, corner piers, and boarded gates set in segmentally headed openings. There are two main garden courts: one to the north measuring about 75 meters by 30 meters, and another to the northeast measuring around 50 meters by 50 meters. Additionally, there is a smaller enclosure further to the east, approximately 20 meters by 20 meters. The walls extend northward to form the boundary for Tattlebury, Little Tattlebury, and the Wine Shop and Gallery. They connect to the northeastern corner of Maypole through linking gateways and piers.
