Description

The gates and gate piers at Mascalls were likely constructed in the 1880s and are made of cast and wrought iron. The gate is notably elaborate, stamped with "Herring and Son, Chertsey." It features diagonal braces and a central cast iron panel adorned with four adjoining trefoils. The top rail is crowned with intricate wrought iron scrolls. The gate piers are substantial, designed with an irontwist pattern and topped with peaked finials. These structures hold group value with the Mascalls estate.
