Description

Sunnycot is a small house dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It features a framed construction, with the ground floor built in brick and the first floor tile-hung, displaying bands of scalloped tiles. The roof is covered with peg tiles and has a brick stack.

The house faces south and has a single-depth, two-room plan. The right-hand (east) room is heated, while the left-hand room is likely an unheated service area. There is a 20th-century lean-to porch on the front to the left, and the house has been extended with a single-storey block at the right end. The details of the interior plan are unclear as the interior was not available for inspection during the survey.

The exterior is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical three-window front. The roof is gabled at both ends, with a stack at the rear right. The front door, which is made of planks and has a cover strip, is located in the porch to the left, accompanied by a 20th-century two-light casement window with diamond leaded panes. There are three similar windows on the first floor and two on the ground floor. To the right, the single-storey block features a 20th-century door and a two-light casement window that matches the others.

The interior includes a fireplace dated 1676, which has the initials 'IM' inscribed on the beam.
