Description

The War Memorial is a First World War memorial that also includes inscriptions for those who died in the Second World War. It is made of Portland stone and features a lifesize sculpted figure of a soldier in battledress standing on a plinth. The plinth is inscribed with the names of the fallen. Additionally, there are carvings in relief on the sides of the plinth that depict a bi-plane and a ship.
