Description

HORSMONDEN SPELMONDEN ROAD TQ 73 NW 4/109 Oasthouse about 30 metres north of Spelmonden GV II

Oasthouse. Early C19, with probably earlier stowage. Timber framed and weather boarded stowage and red brick roundels with plain tiled roofs. Double range stowage, each wing of 2 storeys with half-hipped roof hip end to fore, with wooden casement on each first floor and loft door to left. Cart doors to left on ground floor and half-glazed door with wooden casement to right. Catslide outshot to left. Higher gabled rear ranges linked to rear roundels and tiled gantry to right. Five roundels arranged around the stowage, all with plinth, corbelled eaves, cowls and winding vanes intact and all with double boarded doors to ground floor. Small blank recess (for date plaque?) on end right roundel.
