Description
Holly Tree Cottage is a house that likely dates from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. The ground floor is constructed of brick, while the first floor is tile-hung with bands of scalloped tiles. It features a peg-tile roof and brick stacks.
The house faces east and is slightly set back from the road. It is two rooms wide with a central entrance, and the rooms are heated from end stacks. There is a rear service outshut that is probably integral to the structure.
The building is two storeys high with gabled ends and projecting end stacks. The front is symmetrical with three windows, a 20th-century front door, and a gabled porch supported by posts. The windows are 20th-century casements with leaded panes.
The cottage is included for its group value with other small-scale roadside listed houses in the hamlet of Mile Oak.
