Description
Acer Cottage is a small house built around the late 18th century to early 19th century. The ground floor is constructed of brick, while the first floor features a timber frame and weatherboarding. The roof is covered with peg tiles and there are brick chimney stacks.
The house is situated on the roadside and faces approximately east. It has a two-room wide front block that is heated by end stacks and includes a central entrance. There is a rear left wing that extends at right angles, accompanied by an outshut.
The exterior is two storeys high with a symmetrical three-bay front. The roof has a gable at the left end and is hipped at the right end. A 20th-century porch with a lean-to roof is located in the centre, featuring a 19th-century panelled front door. There are early 19th-century sash windows with 16 panes, two on each floor. Additionally, there is a flat-roofed 20th-century single-storey brick addition at the right (north) end. The interior has not been inspected.
