Description
The mounting block, located immediately east of Matfield House, is likely from the 1730s and was built around the same time as Matfield House and the stable courtyard buildings. It is constructed from stone and brick, featuring four stone treads set on a brick base. A tapering timber post with a faceted finial is attached to one corner of the block and includes a tethering hook.
