Description

This is a cottage with attached stabling, which has been converted into garages. It likely dates from the early 19th century or earlier. The ground floor is constructed of Flemish bond brick, while the first floor is tile-hung, topped with a peg-tile roof and a brick stack.

The cottage has a two-room plan and is single depth, located to the rear (west) and left (south) of Hatherleigh, with an entrance on the east side. The garages, which were formerly loose boxes, are found in an outshut on the west side. The roof is half-hipped at both ends, with the stack positioned at the right end.

The exterior features two storeys and an asymmetrical two-window front, with a 20th-century plank door to the right. There are two first-floor two-light casements with diamond leaded panes, including some old glass. A small outshut on the right return is weatherboarded above the brick.

The interior has not been inspected. The cottage is included for its group value.
