Description
This building is a barn located west of Hatherleigh, likely built in the 19th century. It features a framed construction, covered in weatherboarding, and stands on a brick plinth laid in Flemish bond. The roof is tiled and has a half-hipped design at both ends. The barn has a plan consisting of five bays, with a rear outshut and doors positioned opposite each other.
On the exterior, there is a full-height, two-leaf stable door at the front, and the roof extends down as a catslide over the rear outshut. Inside, the barn has wall-framing made of slender scantling, and the roof structure includes a tie-beam, clasped purlins, and queen struts. The barn is part of a group value with Hatherleigh.
