Description
Masters is a house from the early 18th century, possibly with an earlier core. The ground floor is constructed of brick, painted white, while the first floor is tile-hung with white-painted tiles. It has a peg-tile roof and brick stacks.
The house faces west and has a double depth plan, consisting of three rooms under a two-span roof. The right end front room, located at the south end, is an early 19th-century addition to a symmetrical house with a central entrance and end stacks. The front door leads into a heated entrance hall to the north, where a staircase rises. The current center room is unheated, and the old end stack has been repurposed to heat the 19th-century addition. There are indications that parts of the house may predate the 18th century, with remnants of a timber-framed stack reportedly surviving in the attic space above the rear left service room.
The exterior features two storeys with a symmetrical three-bay front to the left, plus one window from the 19th-century addition, identifiable by a straight joint in the brickwork. The 19th-century panelled front door is located to the left of center and is sheltered by a flat porch hood on posts. This is flanked by early 19th-century 16-pane sash windows, with three similar sashes on the first floor. To the right on the ground floor is an early 19th-century tripartite sash window, featuring a 16-pane center flanked by 4-pane sashes. The roof is gabled at the left end and hipped at the right end.
The interior is plain, and the roof has not been inspected.
