Description
Tompsett's Cottage is a house dating from the 16th century, with cladding from the 18th century. It features a timber frame that is clad with red brick on the ground floor, partially rendered, and tile hung on the first floor. The rear of the building has part of the frame exposed. The roof is plain tiled and has two storeys plus a garret, with a gabled roof that has stacks at the left end and clustered at the centre right, where the roof line steps up slightly. There are four irregularly sized wooden casement windows on each floor, and a boarded door to the left with a flat hood supported by brackets. At the rear left, there is a catslide outshot, with lower outshots to the right, revealing the tops of large arched braces above them.
