Description
Ashdown Farmhouse is a house that dates back to the 16th century or earlier. It features a timber frame that is clad with painted brick and ornamental tile hanging on the first floor. The roof is plain tiled. The building may have originated as a hall house. It has one storey and an attic on a plinth, with a two-storey crosswing to the right. The roof has a half gable and a low hip to the left, while it is hipped to the right with a projecting hipped crosswing. There are stacks to the left and a projecting stack at the end on the right. A raking dormer is located at the centre, and there are three light leaded casements to the right on the first floor, along with four light and two three light leaded casements on the ground floor to the centre and right. A half glazed dart is present in the left return elevation.
