Outbuildings, Walls And Rear Courtyard North Of Sprivers

The outbuildings, walls, and rear courtyard north of Sprivers date from around 1750 and earlier. They feature red brick walls and a storehouse that is timber-framed and weatherboarded, topped with plain tiled roofs. The brick building served various functions, including a granary, honey house with an apple loft above, and a bakehouse/brewery. It is a single-storey structure built on a plinth, with a brick corbelled eaves cornice beneath a hipped roof that has stacks at both the rear left and rear right. The facade includes three segmentally headed wooden casements, with the center window featuring lattice work shutters, along with four boarded doors.

There is a hipped rear wing, with its base constructed in earlier English bond brickwork. Inside, the right end section retains a large sink and pump, likely used for brewing or washing. To the left, enclosing a small garden area, are red and blue chequered brick walls about 7 feet high, built in garden wall bond, with boarded gateways that connect to the weatherboarded building, which is also one storey with a half-hipped roof and a rear stack in red brick. This building has two boarded doors and simple window openings on the returns. The interior features a brick paviour floor, with the end bays lofted over and a clasped purlin roof. A red brick wall, approximately 7 feet high, extends about 30 meters to the left (south), running parallel to another wall that extends southwards from the main house. The courtyard between the house and the outbuildings is paved with brick.
