Description

Heathside and Crowhursts' shop with wall attached is a house and shop that dates from the 16th century or earlier, with alterations and extensions made in the mid-19th century. The building features a timber frame with exposed small panel framing and plaster infill on a red brick base. The crosswing has weatherboarding on a sandstone base and has been extended with painted brick and tile hanging on the first floor. The roofs are plain tiled.

This hall house has a crosswing plan and was extended in the 19th century to create a courtyard. The earlier section faces north towards the Green and is two storeys high with an attic, featuring a hipped roof with gablets, a stack to the left, and a large ridge stack at the centre right. There are two gabled dormers and a projecting hipped crosswing on the right. The left side has two light and four light wooden casements on each floor, with a single light window above to the upper right, and two light wooden casements on the crosswing. A boarded door is located to the left in a gabled porch.

To the left end, there are single storey extensions with hipped and flat roofs. The 19th-century wing forms the return and roadside elevations, which are also two storeys high with stacks to the centre left and end right, and a large gable to the centre left. The first floor has two wooden casements, while the ground floor features paired sashes to the right and a central panelled door, along with a curved multi-paned shop front at the left-hand corner. Extending from the right end is a sandstone wall approximately 3 feet high and about 15 metres long.
