Description
The bridge and dam wall, located at TQ 721 339, date from the mid-19th century and are constructed from sandstone blocks. To the south, the wall serves as part of the retaining wall for Marshalls Lake, featuring a semi-circular sink-hole designed to manage overflow water. A culvert extends to the north side, which is round-headed and supported by flanking offset buttresses. The roadside has parapet walls approximately 3 feet high, with small terminating buttresses. This structure is part of the improvements made to the park at Bedgebury by Alexander Beresford-Hope and is now included in the Bedgebury National Pinetum.
