Description

The rain pump at Bedgebury Park, dating from the mid-19th century, is constructed of red brick. It features wooden boarded doors that cover a flight of steps leading down to a domed pump chamber. This chamber is connected to a brick-lined arched tunnel that extends to the south-west towards Bedgebury Park House. The pump machinery is still intact and bears the inscription: "Easton 25 Victoria St London." This 4-inch rain pump was used to supply water to the fountain, stable court, and bothy at Bedgebury Park.
