Description

The Forge is a cottage dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of red brick with blue headers, set on a random rubble plinth. The building features moulded eaves with a bracketed gutter and has a plain tiled roof that is half-hipped to the right. There is an end stack to the left and a catslide extension at the rear. The cottage is two storeys high and has a two-window front. The first-floor windows are large wooden casements, while the ground-floor windows are smaller with segment heads. The central door, which is from the 19th century, is half-glazed and panelled, and it has a 20th-century sloping hood supported by timber.
