Description
This is a terrace row of houses dating to approximately 1818, situated on the western side of Waterloo Road, Ramsgate. The buildings are constructed of stock brick with a slate roof, and extend over three storeys with a basement. A parapet is stepped down to the right-hand side, and there are chimney stacks running from left to right.
Number 77 features a three-storey canted bay with casement windows on each floor, set within moulded architraves. A tented verandah, supported by wooden piers and rails, extends from the first floor. Number 75 has two wooden casements on each floor, alongside a canted bay window on the ground floor. Number 73 has sash windows on each floor, and a ground floor bay window. Number 71 is characterised by a glazing bar sash window on each floor, and a canted ground floor bay window. The basements all have wooden casements, with the exception of Number 71, which has a glazed bar sash. Panelled and half-glazed doors, with semi-circular surrounds, are positioned to the left of each front entrance. Simple rails, mostly wooden replacements where original, serve the steps and basement areas. The terrace is depicted on Collard and Hurst's map of 1822.
