Description
This is a pair of terrace houses, dated approximately 1818, located on the west side of Waterloo Road, Ramsgate. The houses are constructed from stock brick with a slate roof and feature parapets and chimney stacks in the centre and to the right. They are three storeys high, with basements.
The front elevations have replacement sash windows on the second floor and two-storey canted bays below, featuring French windows on the first floor and balconies with simple iron railings. The left side of number 63 has sash windows while the right side has glazing bar sashes on the ground floor. A half-glazed panelled door is on the left, paired with a similar half-glazed door on the right, both set within keyed, gauged semi-circular surrounds and topped with semi-circular fanlights. Iron railings enclose the steps leading to the front doors; the left-hand side features a crescent-shaped top rail, while the right-hand side has wooden rails. The houses appear on Collard and Hurst’s map of 1822.
