Description

This is a circa 1818 terrace house located on the west side of Waterloo Road, Ramsgate. The building is constructed of stock brick with an interlocking tiled roof, and features three storeys and a basement. It has parapets and chimney stacks to the left and right. A three-storey canted bay is prominent, holding glazing bar sashes within moulded architraves on the second and ground floors. The first floor features French windows with a tented verandah, supported by trellised piers and incorporating valancing and cast iron rails featuring a heart and wheel motif. A further glazing bar sash is present in the basement. A half-glazed door is located to the left, accompanied by a semi-circular fanlight within a keyed surround. Simple rails are present on the steps, with hooped rails leading to the basement. The property was depicted on Collard and Hurst’s map of 1822.
