Description

Hopeville House, located on Church Street, has a datestone from 1723 featuring the initials MIE. The building is greatly restored and constructed of brown brick, standing two storeys tall with a renewed tiled roof that includes two hipped dormers. It has three sash windows, which do not have glazing bars except for those on the ground floor. The side elevation, dated 1764, is actually a late 19th-century rebuilding, made of red brick and also two storeys high with a tiled roof. This side features three hipped dormers with fishscale tiles and two bays on the ground floor. Adjacent to Hopeville House is Green Acres, a late 19th-century building that is two storeys tall with a gable front and three sash windows.
