Description

Meres Court is a timber-framed house with an attached cottage, dating from the 16th century. The front of the house is plastered, and the first floor slightly overhangs, supported by a large horizontal beam (bressumer). The roof is tiled and hipped. There are three sash windows with their original glazing bars. Attached to the west end of the house is a cottage of one window bay, faced with roughcast (a type of plaster) and with a similarly hipped tiled roof. The group value of this listing reflects its importance as a well-preserved and characteristic example of a timber-framed house and cottage.
