Description

This is a 17th-century farm storage building located 25 yards southeast of Place Farm in Hartlip. The structure is built of red brick in English bond with a timber-framed first floor that is tile hung, topped with a plain tiled roof. It stands two storeys high with a double-span roof. There are two wood casements on each floor, along with central board doors on both levels. In the 19th century, the building was converted to oasts, and there are remains of two white brick kilns at the south end, although these are not included in the listing.
