Description
Old Barn Cottage is a house dating from the 16th century, with a refacing from the 18th century. It features a timber frame clad with painted brick and has a plain tiled roof. The building is two storeys high with a basement, showcasing a moulded eaves cornice and a hipped roof that has stacks positioned to the centre right and end right. On the first floor, there are five sash windows, while the ground floor includes five wooden casements and a tripartite sash farmer shop window to the left, all with segmental heads. There is one additional window on the ground floor, a blocked doorway to the centre right, and a half-glazed door to the left with a flat hood. Inside, the exposed frame stands on flint-lined cellars. Originally known as "the Anchorage," one room still retains a ceiling painting of an anchor and supporters, which is now covered.
