Description
Forge Farmhouse is a 15th-century ceiled hall house located in Throwley Forstal. The building features a timber frame that is exposed, with painted brick and plaster infill, and has a plain tiled roof. It consists of three framed bays and is one storey high with an attic. The left end has a jetty, and the roof is hipped, featuring one hipped dormer and stacks at both ends. The façade includes three wooden casements and a central boarded door, along with a catslide outshot to the right. The layout is unusual, as the parlour and solar on the left are larger than the hall, which allows for internal staircase access to the solar.
