Description

No. 121 on West Street is a 16th century timber-framed house, with a date of 1697 displayed, suggesting it is likely older. The building has two storeys and an attic, featuring two windows and two large hipped dormers with casement windows. The shop front dates from the 19th century. Above the shop front, the building is plastered, and there are two bay windows, each with five lights containing casement windows with small square leaded panes. On either side of the bay windows are three upright panels of pargetting, with the date 1697 in the center panel. The house has a wide moulded wooden eaves cornice and a tiled roof. Inside, the ceiling beams are boxed in. This property, along with Nos. 121 to 123, forms a group with No. 1 Market Place.
