Description

No. 6 West Street is a building dating from around 1830, which has a front that belongs to a 16th-century structure. It stands three storeys high and features one window. The exterior is made of dirty white brick and includes a cornice and parapet. Originally, there was a contemporary shop front with six detachable wooden shutters, but this has been replaced by a modern plate-glass shop front and doorway that has a deep fascia. A 19th-century flat hood on brackets is positioned above the entrance. This building is part of a group that includes Nos. 1 and 2, as well as Nos. 4 to 12, which collectively form a group with Nos. 14 to 16 on The Market Place.
