Description
The Old School and Old School House is a pair of houses that were once a school and village hall, dating from around 1700 with an extension added in 1884. The building features red and blue chequered brick with red brick dressings and a plain tiled roof. The house, which is 2 storeys tall with an attic on a high plinth, has a discontinuous moulded plat band and wooden moulded eaves beneath a half-hipped roof. It includes three hipped dormers and chimney stacks at both ends. The first floor has five glazing bar sash windows, while the ground floor features five larger windows with glazing bars, including a French door at the left end. The school buildings are also 2 storeys and have a gabled design, with three glazing bar sash windows on each floor; the center window on the upper floor is raised and has a semi-circular head. To the left, there are recessed hipped wings with a boarded door in a gauged head. The central gable is dated 1884.
