Description
No. 48 on London Road is a 18th-century building featuring a painted boarded elevation designed to mimic stone courses. It has a stucco plinth and a boarded band above the first-floor windows. The structure is two storeys high with a two-window facade, eaves, and a gutter. The roof is a half hipped mansard covered with tiles, and it includes two flat-roofed leaded dormers that contain sash windows with glazing bars. On the ground floor, there is one sash window to the left set in a grooved pilastered frame with moulded square capitals and a flat stucco arch above, which has incised voussoirs. To the right, there is a modern projecting oriel window in a pilastered frame with a stucco panel beneath it. The first floor has two sash windows with glazing bars.
