Description

Fawkham War Memorial is situated on the village green, overlooking Valley Road. It features a rough-hewn Cornish granite Latin cross that rises from a tapering plinth, which is set on a square base made of York stone. The inscriptions on the memorial are in raised lead lettering.

On the east face of the plinth, there is an inset that displays the inscription: "THIS CROSS IS PLACED HERE IN ORDER THAT WE MAY NEVER FORGET (7 NAMES) OF THIS PARISH, WHO DIED FOR OUR COUNTRY 1914 – 18." Additionally, there is an inset square panel at the base of the cross on the same face, which bears the inscription: "1939 – 45 (1 NAME)."

The memorial is surrounded by a floral border and is enclosed by concrete post and chain fencing.
