Description

Catts Cottage is a late medieval farmhouse that has been well restored. It features two storeys and dormers in the gable ends, with high-pitched tiled roofs, including a half-hipped roof on the right section. A tall 17th-century stack rises from the connecting ridge. On the left side, there is a bay projection that extends up two storeys, with a brick base and half-timbering above, including plaster infilling. The cottage has casement windows with wooden mullions and transoms, and there is a tiled hooded projection over the second-floor window and above the gable end dormer. The gable ends are adorned with carved wooden pendants and brackets. On the right side, the stonework is laid in continuous courses, featuring brick surrounds to the windows and brick quoins, with tile hanging above. The interior is notable for its original staircase and carved newel pendants and brackets.
