Description

The Four Elms Public House is a 16th-century building with later extensions. It features a long range with a half hipped end facing the road and a high pitched tiled roof. The building has a compound ridge stack made of old brick. The windows are arranged irregularly and include 18th-century, 19th-century, and modern casements. The first floor is tile hung, while the ground floor is constructed of random rubble with red brick dressings at the ends and brick along the sides, all painted white. There is a two-storey projecting extension to the north and a long, single-storey extension to the south.
