Description
Redleaf Cottage is a picturesque cottage that appears to be from the mid-19th century, but the date on the porch indicates it was built in 1826. The cottage has two storeys and features two irregular bays on each front, designed in a Tudor style. It has an ornamental tiled roof with two layers. The front facing the road has a first-floor window in the gable that breaks the eaves, and the first floor is half-timbered with plaster filling, while the ground floor is constructed of random stone. A square stone chimney stack with a diagonal stone shaft rises from the central ridge. The cottage has casement windows with decorative leading, except for a plain stone-framed window on the ground floor to the left. The porch is tiled and gabled, half-timbered on a stone base, with ornate iron glazing on the sides and a six-panel door that has a glazed top. The right side of the cottage features a gable with double overhangs supported by curved brackets.
