Description

Ivy Farmhouse, now incorporated into a DES establishment, is a 17th-century or earlier timber-framed house with subsequent alterations and additions. It is two storeys high. The windows are irregular, with four on the first floor and five on the ground floor. The roof is steeply pitched and tiled, with a half-hip to the right, and a rebuilt, off-centre chimney stack. The first floor is tile hung, while the ground floor is painted brick with a plinth. The casement windows have been replaced. An entrance is located on the right return, where a modern, three-bay extension in a similar style is visible. The interior retains numerous exposed posts and beams.
